No More Junk Mail!!!

Hi my name is “Direct Mail Marketer,” and I have a problem.  I’m addicted to sending unsolicited junk mail in mass quantities to people who never open it and bear the burden of its disposal.
   According to www.newdream.org, the junk mail industry has some serious ‘splainin to do. The first thing they need to address is why their wasteful industry continues to exist.  Here are some interesting facts about the junk mail industry that are sure to make your head spin:

• The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says that in the year 2005, 5.8 million tons of junk mail and catalogs were disposed of and less than 36% was recycled.
• Using the EPA’s statistics, New American Dream estimates hundreds of millions of dollars per year are spent to collect and dispose of junk mail that doesn’t get recycled.
• According to the California State Assembly, California spends $500,000 each year to collect and dispose of AOL’s direct mail disks.
