Instant Off Water Saver Product Review
by Jeffrey Davis
It’s time for an eco-confession…I’m a water waster. I absolutely love the sound of running water, what about you? Try as I might, I have not been able to kick the habit of leaving the water running when I’m brushing my teeth or doing the dishes. It’s not because I’m apathetic or lazy, it’s because I
want to hear that water running.
What is aiding in the deliverance from my water wasting ways?
The Instant-Off Water Saver! Basically, this little gem is a replacement for
any faucet’s aerator. It has a little rod that extends down from the aerator and whenever you need to use the water, you just tap the rod one direction or the other and out it flows.
The Instant-Off Water Saver comes in a
consumer model and a
commercial model. The consumer model allows you to simply press the rod up and twist to lock the valve into the “on” position, letting it flow without having to press the rod one way or the other. The commercial version does not have that feature, but it does come in a few other aesthetic options than the consumer one.
So does it really work? The answer is YES, like a charm! All you have to do is screw the Instant-Off Water Saver onto your faucet, turn the water on, and then tap the dispenser rod whenever water is desired. Instant-Off claims to be able to help
a family of four save over 10,000 gallons per year and reducing water and sewer bills by over $100 a year!
There’s also a hidden benefit of Instant-Off, and people that struggle with hand disabilities, arthritis, muscular dystrophy, cerybal paulsey, stroke victims would be the ones to appreciate it. Any of these conditions make it difficult to grab and turn things, so being able to have easier water on demand is worth the Instant-Off’s weight in gold.
You can find the Instant-Off Water Saver at your local Home Depot, as it is one of their officially endorsed products under the “
Eco-Options” label. How much will one of these water saving devices set you back?
A mere $6.95. At that price, you can afford to retrofit all of the faucets in your home and still come
out saving money at the end of the year!
