Every time we publish an issue of Green Lifestyle Magazine or Organic Lifestyle Magazine, we hope that at least one person makes changes for the better. That, to me, is a success.
I learn something new with every issue. This time was no exception.
Many environmentalists claim tap water is fine. I don’t agree. It’s disgusting. It’s polluted. It’s not healthy. But the alternative—to drink bottled water—is to condone reprehensible business practices, the worst of which is taking clean water away from people who need it to survive.
There is no way we can push, convince, or in any way count on our leaders to protect our environment, our future. It is up to us. Big business will not be controlled by government. More often than not, it’s the other way around. As long as there is money to be made, big business will make it the fastest, easiest way they can. That’s human nature and it’s not changing anytime soon.
But we can make a difference, a huge difference. We vote with our dollars, every single day. There is no better way to effect change.
Today, I pledge to vote with my dollars and never again purchase bottled water. I will filter my water at home, and I will drink tap water when I am out if I’m not carrying my reusable bottle of filtered water. Why don’t you join me in boycotting bottled water? It’s a simple choice that will positively impact our planet and save lives.
